I’m a journalist and author and some of you may have heard about my most recent book, Raven: My Year of Dating Dangerously. It tells the story of my online dating experiences as an, ahem, older woman. After that crazy year I know better than most people how maddening – as well as dodgy – is the world of internet dating. So when my good friend Vivien told me she was starting up a classy introduction agency, at which she ‘hand-picks’ potential partners for you, doing all the vetting and screening herself, I thought what a wonderful idea it was. I joined the club part of handpicked partners for the free October offer. I've already attended 2 functions and have realised that I love karaoke. I was a bit confused that I wasn't going to be shown lots of pictures when I went for my interview. Vivien did explain that it is a very confidential introduction process and she would only share pictures when she felt she had a match for me. Strangely I've met a lovely chap who I wouldn't of picked from his photo and we are looking forward to spending his birthday on the 5th of November together. Early days but thank you. I've been on 2 dating sites for over a year and haven't had any good experiences. Apart from the joining costs I've been stood up on numerous occasions. met people that didn't look anything like their picture so wasted money and time meeting them. And the final straw was a guy I'd been dating for nearly 3 months, wife came back earlier than expected from their holiday home in France.
